"Conosciamoci" - Getting to know Jessica and Pulcinella

Let's Get Acquainted (E' tempo di familiarizzare)

Jessica:  I am a proud Italian single Mom who was raised from a little baby in the Mediterranean seaside town of Formia, Italy near Naples some (tanti anni fa), but not too long ago.   If you ever visit here, I can show you around since I  know this town like the back of my hand (come le mie tasche). I experienced the "greatest honor" of giving birth to my beautiful baby girl eight years ago and love watching her learn new things every day.

A few years ago, I lost my best friend, my Mom, to cancer and then lost the rights to her Optometry store.  Thankfully, my generous father has been supporting us until we can get back on our feet and he even sent us to visit my relatives (i miei parenti) in Colorado USA for a few months.  It was there that I learned about homeschooling and learned that it was also used in Italy.  When we returned home to live with my generous Dad, I enrolled her in homeschooling.  Since then, she has been learning the English language from me in practical and fun way as well as using standardized lessons.  This decision to stay at home and teach her is a decision that I am loving every minute.  During the COVID-19 phase 1 60-day lockdown here in Italy is when we [Pulcinella, PaperaQuaQua (Mrs. Pulcinella), and my daughter] began teaching Italian to members in my private English-speaking Facebook group (IMPARIAMO L'ITALIANO).   My goal as your Italian tutor is to continue to extend this  Italian language 'learning experience' to new and interesting English-speaking people from around the world.

Pulcinella:  Jessica and I are looking forward to making you laugh while captivating you during your online Italian learning experiences.  Jessica and I first started our live Facebook Italian sessions on her private Facebook group during the "tanti giorni "(60-day) Phase 1 COVID-19 lockdown.  Jessica and her daughter are my best friends, as is PaperaQuaQua, my recent bride.  My name is Italian, of course, and it is pronounced "Pull-chi-nel-la".  I am very famous here in Italy as an entertainer to both the young and the old.  I am a descendent from the 17th century classical Neapolitan puppet that originated in "the art of comedy" commedia dell'arte in 1620 by Silvio Fiorillo [it].  I am regarded as the voice of the very lively and spirited southern Italian people, especially in my home town of Napoli.  (source: Wikipedia)
